Coyote’s Coffee Den

South-Central Colorado is home to many unique coffee shops. One such place is Coyote’s Coffee Den.  Conveniently located at 675 Highway 115 in Penrose, it is the perfect breakfast and coffee nook to visit on your morning drive to the Colorado Shed Company.

From the artwork and furniture to the handmade pottery mugs for sale in the corner cabinet, you’ll find a friendly atmosphere at Coyote’s whether you are a local or just passing through.

Coyote’s coffee is excellent, and their menu boasts a variety of lattes, frappes, and smoothies. Soy and almond milk are two available milk alternatives. The menu also offers a wide variety of drinks for the non-coffee drinker, including hot teas, chai lattes, and Italian sodas, as well as fountain drinks and some bottled options.

As memorable as their coffee is, Coyote’s is just as popular for their food. Perhaps most well-known on the breakfast menu is the Breakfast Burrito smothered in Green Chile. Several quiches are featured each morning, and the Bear Claw, a sweet almond-topped pastry, makes an excellent partner for your coffee.

If lunch is what you need, you will not be disappointed. Whether you fancy the Classic Italian Panini, the Philly Cheesesteak, the Baby Bleu Salad, or the Soup of the Day, there’s something on Coyote’s lunch menu for everyone.

A unique feature at this worthwhile stop is the vast outdoor seating. Clear vinyl curtains have been installed around the perimeter of the outdoor, covered patio which are zipped together when the weather turns chilly, allowing the patio to be used all year round. Beyond the patio, under the trees on the back of the property, picnic tables and fireplace chimeneas have been arranged into a perfect seating area, a place to sip the drink of your choice while you enjoy the view of the mountains in the distance.
